Job Description
- Lead all aspect of the Freshwater Conservation Program
- Program emphasis will be on landscape-scale conservation aimed at large, high-biodiversity aquatic systems
- Identify effective Nature Conservancy roles and strategies in freshwater conservation
- Developing capacity and delivering support to Conservancy field staff in a variety of arenas
- Building effective partnerships with public and private organizations
- Supervise staff based in several locations throughout the state
- Areas of focus will include program development, strategic planning, program delivery to field staff, partnership building, fundraising, and management of staff
Job Qualifications
- BA / BS degree (advanced degree preferred) in natural sciences / natural resource planning or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5-7 years related experience in natural areas planning or management
- Expert knowledge of freshwater ecology, conservation biology, hydrology and public policy, and experience in applying this knowledge to set and achieve conservation outcomes
- Ability to work in a team environment with other professionals, excellent communication skills, and supervisory experience required
