Job Description
The Career Advisor works with both graduate and undergraduate students. In order to serve the diverse career interests of SOC students, the Advisor must be familiar with a variety of career fields, develop employer contacts, conduct employer site visits, maintain contact with alumni, and and remain up-to-date on employment trends. The Advisor must feel comfortable developing relationships and interacting with faculty on a regular basis. The Advisor must have excellent writing skills and be able to critique written work and offer substantive feedback.
Job Qualifications
Masters degree and three to five years experience required. Communications experience or human resources experience in a communications organization preferred. Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Position requires strong oral and written communication skills, computer literacy, and excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and presentation skills.
