Job Description
- Develop, coordinate, and help implement short-, mid-, and long-term advocacy strategies to defeat administrative and legislative attempts to weaken National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Develop mid- and long-term funding strategies
- Identify and coordinate with constituencies beyond the conservation community
- Write policy and strategy memos and congressional briefing materials
- Coordinate with the communications staff of coalition groups to develop a media strategy, messaging, and materials
- As appropriate, educate decision-makers
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required
- Graduate degree is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-starter who can work independently
- Ability to balance short-term needs while framing and advancing long-term strategies
- Relevant experience can include the following: demonstrated understanding of policy and legal issues related to NEPA or the environment; legislative advocacy experience; experience working with coalitions; media experience
Salary
