Job Description
Monsanto is seeking a highly talented Research Associate to become part of the Biotechnology organization. They will perform lab experiments and will be part of a larger multi-disciplinary effort aimed at developing methods for discovery and advancing the knowledge base around high priority leads in our crop pipeline. Successful applicants will work in a team based environment, manage individual project(s) and interact cross functionally within the organization. Research associates perform research and/or development in collaboration with others, make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.
Responsibilities include:
• Molecular biology, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting etc.

Job Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- Applicants should have a degree in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology or Cell Biology with 5+ years of laboratory experience (BS candidates) or a minimum of 2+ years of laboratory experience (MS candidates).
-Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects through completion
-Good working knowledge of basic bioinformatic tools is required.
-Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Effective computer skills, specifically using MS Office programs
-Attention to detail, strong experimental design, data analysis and interpretation skills, strong ability to work in a team setting, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential
Desired Skills/Experience:
-Demonstrated skills in Cell Biology or Plant Biology (eg. transient systems, model systems, plant physiology, microscopy) will be advantageous
