Job Description
Smolak Farms is a very diversified agricultural business. It is comprised of Pick Your Own fruits, berries and some vegetables; A Farm Stand and Bakery; Festivals; Educational Programs; Ice Cream Stand and Functions. We have a reputation for being innovative and creative.
The Farm Manager position includes the following aspects:
- management of all outside activities of crop production from planning, planting to harvest.
- all aspects of planning with the owner.
- coordination of all activities with other managers.
- maintenance of farm equipment.
- hiring, firing and scheduling staff.
- maintenance of farm appearance.
- development of short, medium and long term farm plan.
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of fruit, berry and vegetable production.
- ability to deal with the public.
- computer skills.
- self starter and great work ethic.
- positive attitude.
- ability to multi task.
- experience in managing a crew.
- pesticide license to be obtained.
