Job Description
This position is accountable for full quality execution of QA policies and procedures. The candidate will drive problem solving with respect to quality issues within an expanding aseptic and ESL dairy product plant.
This innovation role is to ensure seamless execution of product and process quality throughout the product development and commercialization cycle. You'll be expected to accumulate information, marshal resources and eliminate problems with a strong sense of urgency and in an efficient and effective manner.
Accountable for the investigation, development, commissioning, and verification of quality systems for new products and brand extensions for company products manufactured at company facility.
The position will be responsible for direction, development, implementation, and improvement of quality systems, including, specifications, testing procedures, and best practices to ensure all quality standards and consumer expectations are met.
The incumbent will participate and lead quality activities on existing and new product/package innovation teams consisting of Marketing, Research and Development, Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, etc.
Responsibilities include all quality activities from early development to commercialization and process capability verification.
Serves as a liaison between vendors/co-packers and company on quality initiatives.
Troubleshoots quality related issues at company facility.
Conduct assessments of company-owned, co-packer, warehouse and vendor facilities to insure compliance to established procedures, government regulations and specifications.
Develops quality requirements, procedures and specifications for new products, processes, packages and supplier/co-packer quality improvements.
Generate and champion new quality initiatives; evaluate new or modified approaches and initiatives with an open mind.
Champion and utilize statistics in collecting and evaluating data; incorporate/translate findings into documented procedures.
Job Qualifications
Requirements: Bachelors degree in a Science field required, MBA preferred; 4-6 years demonstrated success in quality Assurance or similar technical background in dairy product manufacture. Extensive knowledge/experience in conducting quality systems assessments for manufacturing locations and suppliers.
Extensive knowledge of GMPs in dairy product manufacturing. Extensive knowledge/experience of beverage manufacturing processes including hot/cold fill, high/low acid aseptic, and pasteurization.
Extensive knowledge of packaging systems including plastic bottles, cartons, and aseptic drink boxes/containers.
Excellent computer skills, to include spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
