Job Description
This position will manage the daily operations at the TF research Center in Cairo, GA. The Senior Research Associate will interact across the function groups of maize product development, trialing and trait integration to ensure resources are effectively used to achieve desired results of developing superior products while collecting high quality data.
Duties/Responsibilities
Manages day to day operations at the Cairo, GA maize research Center organizing the work flow across all projects. Conducts experiments adapting procedures as required. Plans new experiments in consultation with Research Scientist. Maintains or improves efficient daily work place operations. Summarizes experiments, manages and analyzes data and prepares reports. Supervises and is accountable for assigned projects and coordinates experiments with other locations. Implements and manages locations safety programs. Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and evaluate employee performance. Organize and supervise work of other employees. Serve on teams appropriate to specific research project.
Job Qualifications
Educational Qualifications Desired
Master's degree in an agriculture related field and minimum of 4 to 6 years of industry related experience is required, or equivalent amounts of education and experience.
PhD in an agriculture related field and 0 to 2 years of related experience is preferred.
Competencies and Experience Desired
Familiarity with statistical analysis. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Experience and demonstrated personnel management skills. Excellent computer skills. Superior organization skills. Strong team skills. Ability to acquire CDL. Ability to acquire Pesticide license. Ability to work in extreme field conditions and inclement weather.
