Job Description
The purpose of this position is to serve and provide leadership as a forestry extension specialist throughout the state, act as a liaison to urban forestry organizations, and to assist the forestry extension faculty in coordinating and delivering educational programs. Development of new programs and contributions to existing programs will be the primary mission. The main focus will be on urban forestry issues and youth education, but the specialist will also be involved in traditional woodland management programs and activities. This position does involve occasional nights and weekends.
Job Qualifications
Extension Program Specialist III: Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field and 5 years relevant experience or a master's degree in forestry and three years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in horticulture with also be excepted if degree includes course work in forestry.
Salary
Minimum: $33,255 Extension Specialist II, $40,906 Extension Specialist III, commensurate with qualifications.
