Job Description
We are seeking an individual who will develop new and improve existing varities of ornamental plants grown from seed and cuttings using traditional plant breeding methods. He or she will develop new ornamental varities, plan/organize/oversee breeding trials at various locations, and be fully involved in the product development process including but not limited to recommending breeding direction and product specifications.
Job Qualifications
The position requires a BS in plant breeding or closely related field preferably with a minimum of 3 years experience. Occasional travel is required. Background and/or interest in bringing new species into the market, germination and seed technology issues, tissue culture, disease resistance and screening, English/Spanish bi-lingual are all desirable but not required.
Salary
Compensation is a competitive performance based pay package, 401(k) plan, health and dental insurance.
