Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct microbial food safety research focusing on fresh produce safety, supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the team.
- Publish research findings and help prepare for research proposals to funding agencies.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- BS in microbiology, public health, epidemiology or related field.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in microbiology, public health, epidemiology or related field.
- Strong organizational, planning, and writing skills;
- Strong research skills in microbiology and molecular biology;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to co-investigators and partners.
- Research experience on Salmonella, E. coli and Campylobacter.
Salary
Salary will be commensurate with experience, with base salary of $40,000.00 (40 hours/week). The University of Maryland offers an extensive benefits package.
