Job Description
About the Position: Serves as Oil and Gas Administrator (OGM) with responsibility for administration of oil and gas developments on the District. This position is part of an OGM Team, consisting of OGM Administrators, wildlife biologists, and archaeologists. Most oil and gas developments on the District involve outstanding and reserved mineral rights.
Duties include:
· Participates in pre-work meetings with developers, operators, and contractors for the application of management constraints to field situations.
· Determines that all deed restrictions for OGM development or financial obligations for timber sales and needed pre-work are met prior to project execution.
· Approves or lays out road systems complete with culverts and material recommendations, well sites, pipeline and electric routes, tank batteries, skid trails, and landings.
· Responsible for anticipating potential resource problems and implementing preventative and corrective actions. Assist with biological and cultural surveys when needed.
· Makes periodic visits to new and existing developments and operations to ensure that work is done in accordance with approved operating plans and/or contracts.
· Advises contractors, developers, and purchasers of adequacy or inadequacy of operations. Discusses major problems and actions to take or have or have been taken to resolve them.
· Administers special use permits, prepares inspections reports, notifies permittees of deficiencies, and conducts follow-up inspections.
