Duties and Responsibilities

Vineyard Management
 Assist in preparation of a "Vineyard Plan" covering all vineyard activities such as materials, plants, labor requirements, scheduling and capital expenditures
 Manage all part-time and seasonal labor
Plan
 Create and manage a training program for all vineyard labor, including mandatory third party training (First Aid, Pesticide Applicators Course, etc.)
 Manage the execution of the Vineyard Plan, including the ordering all materials, work flow scheduling (both field labor and machine operations). 
Manage an effective Preventive Maintenance Program for all vineyard vehicles and equipment, including irrigation systems, and arrange repairs as needed
 Recommend areas of improvement for vineyard quality, cost savings, etc.
 Manage and maintain proper recordkeeping of all vineyard operations activities


Viticulture
 Monitor nutrient status, grape diseases, insects, fungus and weed pests
 Manage and maintain proper records of all viticulture monitoring activities

 Develop site-driven recommendations for clonal and rootstock selection

Budget Preparation, Tracking and Analysis
 Based on the Vineyard Plan, prepare the vineyard portion of the annual budget

Qualifications
Candidates must have formal training in viticulture management or at least 5 years of direct experience. In addition, candidates must demonstrate creativity,   leadership, communication, organizational and technology skills, and be willing to learn viticulture practices and techniques that are relevant to this region and the corresponding impact of cellar operations on the wines.
