Job Description
Manager will serve as an Agriculture Program Advisor and Banana Team Leader (APA/BTL) to support agricultural activities in the Central Africa Region (CARO). As the Agriculture Program Advisor this person will support the Country Programs in Central Africa to develop funding opportunities and advise them on issues related to program quality. S/he will also work with Burundi, DRC and Rwanda to continue the expansion of work to combat banana wilt (BXW) as the Banana Team Leader.
Job Qualifications
- MS in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Agriculture, including experience in Africa and significant knowledge of BXW, CMD and other key issues affecting the region.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Proven experience in developing recommendations and advising others.
- Representational skills, including the ability to present program findings and issues to the Donor as well as host country Government and other key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets, budgeting, Microsoft Office, Excel, and SPSS.
- Fluency in French and English required.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
