Job Description
Regional biologist is responsible for the conservation of wetland and upland habitat in the Western Lake Ontario Focus Area portion of the Great Lakes Initiative. Incumbent will initiate, coordinate and deliver every aspect of public and private wetland conservation projects and programs. This includes developing relationships with partner organizations and private landowners, coordinating the delivery of projects, negotiating agreements, and other duties.
Job Qualifications
BS in Natural Resources is required, an advanced degree is preferred. A waterfowl biology and wetland ecology emphasis is desirable as is field experience in wetland restoration or habitat management. Basic knowledge of wetland conservation programs and policies, and proven grant writing skills are desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and inter-personal skills, are required.
