Job Description
Incumbent will detect, identify and respond to emergency and emerging animal health events. Responsible for the investigation and surveillance of possible bioterror events or the introduction of Foreign Animal Disease agents (AD's) and of illegal activities in the cattle industry, complaint reports, violations of statutes or regulations and follow-up routine inspection reports.
Job Qualifications
- Five years of filed investigative experience AND three years experience working with domestic farm animals used for the production of food or fiber. Acceptable experience would include work on a livestock farm, with livestock auctions or agricultural extension service.
- Substitution: College course work in a police science or criminal justice program may be substituted for up to two years of the field investigative experience. 30 semester credit hours equals one year of experience. College course work in animal husbandry, animal science, or veterinary science may be substituted for up to 2 years of the field investigative experience. 30 semester credit hours equals one year of experience.
