Job Description
Designing, creating, and updating a variety of maps from digital and non-digital data, and assisting with the development, maintenance and operation of a Geographic Information System (GIS). The incumbent designs and creates maps, converts hard copy maps into digital format, and performs field work to visibly verify map data.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited college with a Associate's degree in engineering science, mechanical design technology, mechanical engineering technology, cartography, geography, or a closely related field, and 2 years of full-time paid experience or its part-time and/or volunteer equivalent, designing, creating and updating maps based upon digital and non-digital data.
Must have possession of a NY State driver's license and be a legal resident of NY State.
