Job Description
The Bronx River Restoration Project Associate (RPA) will help implement current and planning proposed restoration and educational work on the Bronx River and help coordinate these projects with staff at NRG and partner organizations. The RPA position is funded by a grant from the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and will help:
1) design, plan, secure permits and procure materials for, and implement NRG's restoration and vegetation, benthic invertebrate, and erosion monitoring projects.
2) provide outreach and informational material to community groups to increase their understanding of diadromous fish and shellfish habitat
3) assist with water quality and other data collection and dissemination to Bronx River partners.

Job Qualifications
- BA, BS, or MS in biology, conservation biology, environmental science, resource management, ecology, or a related field
- Experience in field ecology and monitoring, and monitoring design and project management
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-faceted projects
- Interest in principles of restoration ecology and environmental education
- Ability to work under adverse weather conditions
- Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with GIS
