Job Description
The Department of Animal Science at the University of Wyoming in Laramie seeks a half-time graduate Teaching Assistant and Meat Judging Team Coach. The successful candidate will be expected to teach FDSC 2100 (Meat Evaluation) and coach the meat judging team. The individual must meet requirements for acceptance into a Master of Science graduate program in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist in the department's student recruitment efforts.
The starting date is August 2007. Screening will begin March 15th, 2007. However, applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is identified. Applicants should submit 1) statement of meat judging philosophy and how this activity fits into the undergraduate educational experience; 2) statement of career aspirations; 3) resume; 4) official transcript; and, 5) three names (with contact information) from whom letters of reference can be solicited to contact
Job Qualifications
Required qualifications include a B.S. in Animal Science/ Food Science or related field and participation on an Intercollegiate Meat Judging Team. Additional judging or evaluation experiences are considered beneficial.
