Job Description

Opportunity in 250-acre botanical garden available for energetic and talented Gardener. Under supervision, assists and performs tasks such as planting, cultivating, and caring for trees, flowers, plants, shrubs, and other flora in the Outdoor Gardens area. Assists in and performs tasks such as digging up, balling, burlapping, and weeding and mulching. Repairs damaged planted areas. Operates and cares for hand and power gardening tools and equipment; reports need for repairs and replacements. Performs simple record keeping and written reports. May supervise subordinate employees, including temporary workings, instructing them in gardening techniques and in the proper use and care of materials and equipment. Drives vehicles and operates motorized equipment.

Job Qualifications

Must have 2 yrs experience in gardening work and a Driver's license valid in NYS. NYS Pesticide Applicator (or the ability to obtain within six months of hire).
