DATE OF ANNOUNCEMENT: Fall (See www.nactateachers.org)

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Early February

ELIGIBILITY: Nominees for the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture NACTA award must be CALS faculty.

SPECIFICS: The NACTA award is presented to a faculty member who has demonstrated a commitment to teaching in agricultural sciences. The dossier for the nominee should include:

  • Courses taught, including subject, size, growth, innovative aspects
  • Undergraduate and graduate advising
  • Interactions with students and colleagues outside of class   
  • Mentoring and motivating students
  • Account of how teaching is kept current
  • Student and colleague comments (direct quotes are appropriate)
  •  Cornell/national/international dimension e.g., committee service related to teaching, discussions led at teaching workshops and conferences.
